Financial Aid

The SBU Financial Aid office is currently working on 2011 summer semester financial aid awards. Loan eligibility will be determined based on information reported on the 2010-2011 FAFSA. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours and be accepted into the Graduate Education program to be eligible to receive student loans. If you meet these criteria and are interested in applying for student loans for the summer semester, please notify Brook Jones at bjones@sbuniv.edu or (417) 328-1821.

Dr. Joe Sartorius, Assistant Professor of Graduate Studies at Southwest Baptist University is currently teaching both Masters and Specialist Level Education Administration courses and coordinating Graduate Studies in the St. Louis Area. He has enjoyed working with graduate students helping them learn and achieve their goals as educators. He currently is involved in a collaborative project studying effective inclusion and transitional processes for at risk students. He also is a board member for Kids Belonging, a non-for-profit agency, focusing on including and advocating for at risk students. Dr. Sartorius is a member of the Missouri Governor’s Council for Disabilities and serves as the chairman for the Finance Committee. In addition, he is a member of Missouri Professors of Education Administration and is a certified scorer for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s School Leaders License Assessment. Prior to coming to SBU Dr. Sartorius has been a teacher, principal, director of student services and a special education coordinator. He has served as the chairman for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education Advisory Panel as well as the Blind Task Force. He has been a recipient of the Special School District Ambassador Award from Special School District of St. Louis County, the Lindbergh Leader Award from Lindbergh School District, and the “Jimmy Fiddler” Kiwanian Community Service Award for his many contributions.Dr. Sartorius is a member of Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church. He feels all children can learn and that education is a key to success in life.
